Saturday Snapshots!

Hi friends! I hope you all are enjoying your 3-day weekend as much as I have been! Mine has been pretty busy so far. It started with a Friday night high school football game, some Saturday morning shopping and thrifting which I LOVE to do, a sweet wedding last night, and today I am just being L...A...Z...Y! Yep, I said it, I am being lazy! It has been a while since I had time to laze around all day like I am today! I did wash some dishes, fix lunch, and complete a little project though before my butt planted itself in the chair and refused to move...LOL!

So, while I am being lazy, I thought I might as well be productive and link up with Miss Nelson for Saturday Snapshots to share a few photos of the events I mentioned above!

First up is the cake from the wedding I attended last night....cuteness!

And the outdoor seating...hay bales!

The sweet "guest book"...all guests signed with a green fingerprint (leaf) and their name. This will be so cool framed and displayed in their home.

I said I cooked lunch today.....tomato pie...Mmmm!
I used fresh basil from my mom's herb garden!

Chopped and mixed with some mayonnaise and cheese.

Spread it on a pizza crust and top with fresh sliced tomatoes.

Bake and enjoy!

Oh my....so delish! Seriously! I don't even eat mayo, but I'm telling you this is so tasty!

OK....moving on! My kitty Farrah giving Elvis the evil eye across the room. Elvis is my mother-in-law's dachshund. I am dog-sitting this weekend while she's out of town.

Here he is enjoying ONE of his Sunday afternoon naps....along with my son, Dakota. Glad he (Dakota, not Elvis...lol) doesn't read my blog! Elvis is currently snoozing AGAIN by my legs in the recliner and Farrah is on the top of the head rest of the recliner. We are all being lazy!

On to my thrifty finds. First up is this sweet little red chalkboard thingie I found for a quarter at a yard sale yesterday. This is the project I referred to earlier!

For that price I had to have it, but I knew I wanted to tweak it a little, so this is what I did. I taped off a border around the edge and inside.

Painted it with my chalkboard spray paint.

Love this stuff!

And here you have it! I love it. I am going to hang it on my classroom hall door like a wreath.

Here it is on my door at home. I love it and it's one of a kind!

Here are the other things I had to have yesterday! I love vintage items and found a few half off at my favorite flea market booth! The two tablecloths, the shaving mug, hand, and cookbook are all vintage. Not sure about the cow creamer, but I love him! I have another similar one and I paired them up in my kitchen. I love the clear glass and brass apple paper weight and it will live in my classroom.

Here's a close-up of the apple. Love the air bubbles trapped in the glass.

I found these great numbers and wish I had bought more of them...just $1 for the set. They snap apart if you're wondering.

I also found these two gorgeous tea light holders for $1 each! I have seen these at Hobby Lobby for MUCH more than $1! They are about 8 inches high and so pretty!

I also found two more books for my future home library. I have several hundred books now and am planning to build my own little library area in my home sometime in the next year or two! I collect and read both of these authors and have been trying to complete my collection of Nicholas Sparks for a while now. I have all but 3 of his books now! I also only collect hard cover books. I have read this book already but didn't own it. Now I do and they were just $2 each!

Well, that's it! Thank you for sticking with me until the end. I get a little long-winded sometimes...lol! I just enjoy sharing with friends. Enjoy the remainder of your weekend....I plan to!
Until next time....

A Hodge Podge Post!

Well....today was my first day of kindergarten.....with students anyway! Our kinders stagger start so I only have 5-6 a day and then next Monday they all come! I had a really good day with them and am looking forward to tomorrow! I wanted to share one of the photos I took of them this morning. I love the sweet little poster I got for free from Run, Miss Nelson's Got the Camera TPT Store! Isn't it adorable? I found this gorgeous frame on my summer trip to Pennsylvania & Ohio for just $0.99 at a thrift store in Amish country. LOVE...:) My hubby spray painted it red for me and I popped the poster in it and here it is in all of its' adorableness! Not a word I know...LOL!
This little sweeties name is, believe it or not.....Heavens. Any idea what her last name might be? If you're curious, leave me a comment with your guess and I'll reply by e-mail and tell you if you guessed correctly!

Does the sight of this next photo make you smile as much as it does me?
I love the little smile shaped arrow from Amazon! I got a text earlier in the day that said my package that had been on back order had been delivered. I was excited to get home and get it!

Inside the box was another box...but it wasn't smiling at me!

A peek inside...any guesses?

Love the colors!!!

Oh my....I am in LOVE! Isn't this class set of Westcott scissors the best! Have you ever used Westcott? I used to only use Fiskars, but I tried Westcott a few years ago when they were giving away samples of their scissors and I was sold. Anywho.....while perusing Amazon a few weeks ago, these babies popped up. I loved the color coordinated cups and scissors and the carousel with the handle is just the icing on the cake.

But.....what I really loved was the price! Are you ready for it? The entire set of 24 scissors, storage cups and carousel was just $22.84 and then I got another small discount making it right around $21 and no shipping since I am a PRIME member! Excellent deal or what?

I just love it!

I am also excited about my first ever purchases from a few amazing ladies over on Teachers Pay Teachers!

I bought these from Teaching With Love & Laughter

These awesome & adorable behavior beads from Rockin' & Lovin" Learnin'!

and finally.....this from KinderCraze.

I am thrilled with all of these purchases! I am in awe of all the amazing things everyone creates and really want to try my hand at it....some day! For now, I will enjoy all the awesomeness of you creative ladies!

Hope your week is going well...tomorrow is hump day already! I am so excited for the weekend since my daughter is coming home and I haven't seen her in almost 7 weeks! I don't normally rush time, but I am so ready to see her...:) Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Until next time.....

Goodies Galore!!!

Hi everyone! Hope you are having a fabulous Friday! I sure did...:) I went shopping this morning and my sweet mom rode with me. Bless her heart....I drug her through Michael's and The Learning Path...neither of which she enjoys. She's a good sport though! Before I show you what I bought, I wanted to share the cutest book I bought at a thrift store the other day for my class library. I'll use it during Dental Health month. It was in perfect condition and is so adorable!

Next up are the items I bought at The Learning Path....the closest teacher store to my home! They carry lots of things and I always leave with a few items! First, I found some bright and fun borders. I needed some new ones. I really wanted the red and turquoise chevron but of course they are sold out...like everyone else! Oh well....there's always next year! I love the sunny yellow stripe and this cute little bird border!

I bought the coordinating bird cut-outs to use for something. Not sure what yet, but aren't they adorable?

I love the fun , bright colors!

I also bought name plates. These are self adhesive...I hope they work!

And, perhaps the most needed item I bought was two new rolls of Mavalus tape. This stuff is the bomb.....sticks when nothing else will and will restick several times. Best thing is, it doesn't leave sticky residue!

I ran by Sam's Club to pick up laminating sheets and walked out with a new set of grading pens and a new classroom rug. No picture of the rug yet because it is in my vehicle rolled up. I'll take pix next week in my classroom!

At Michael's, I found a few things on my list. First up were these cupcake liners. I need them for a sweet little project which I hope to share soon.

This little container is for a cute little idea for positive behavior management I found recently. If you want to know more....click here!

I got these letters for another sweet project that I will hopefully share for Made It Monday!

This doily will live somewhere on my desk.

I found several scrapbook papers for yet another sweet project! Stay tuned...:)

Love.....

At Target, I found this dry erase board in the $ spot.

I also found three more pocket charts! I was so excited to find the aqua blue one today...only one though! I bought two red a couple weeks ago, so I was happy to find these colors today!

I bought these two little chalkboard label pails to store something in!

When I arrived home, my World Market order was here waiting one me...:) I had a $10 off $30 coupon I didn't want to expire so I placed an order earlier this week. These things are for my classroom.

These adorable bicycle clips had to be mine. I am planning to put magnets on the back and use them on my whiteboard.

The little notepad also jumped in my cart...too cute! I can use this for faculty meetings!
Cuteness...:)

And this tea towel will be getting a transformation...soon!

Now, I did purchase a couple things that are not for school. First up, these beautiful earrings for my Seminole girl...my daughter Miranda. She's an FSU grad and will love wearing these to Doak Campbell Stadium for the games this fall! I hope I can go watch one with her...:)

And last but not least is this little cutie...my new popcorn bowl! I love popcorn and I love words so this is perfect for my kitchen! I love the bright red too...:)

Also love the bottom of the bowl....:)

So....what have you been buying.....or making for your classrooms? I can finally get in mine Monday and will be there bright and early!!! I can't wait to see yours!

Thanks for stopping by and as always....be blessed!
