Fall is In the Air.....Finally!

Wow! It's been a while since I posted! Like everyone else, I've been super busy. One thing I did was decorate my home for Fall. I just love Fall....it's my favorite season...:) I know this isn't school related, but I just felt like sharing! These pictures were all taken in my dining room. The first picture is my dresser turned buffet. Above the buffet is a picture of the nativity. I leave it up year round because it is so pretty. I bought it a couple years ago from Kirkland's. My daughter used to work there and when this $60.00 picture got marked down a couple days before Christmas, she snagged two of them for me for $8.00 each! I gave one to my sister. I have my big family bible my mama handed down to me there in the center as well my husband's late grandfather's pocket watch under the glass dome. All of the apothecary jars get filled with seasonal items, and the vase gets a new arrangement with each season as well. The smallest apothecary jar (which I got at the flea market for a whopping $1) gets filled with seasonal candy! It contains candy corn and pumpkins now, but during the summer it had salt water taffy in it! The second picture is my summer buffet, I did replace the red flowers with white hydrangeas after that picture was taken though. This will change a lot when I decorate for Christmas! I can't wait to share it with you...:)

This picture is of my lazy susan which I found at a yard sale for $2 a few years ago. It is a nice, sturdy, solid wood lazy susan. I gave it a new chevron stripe paint job over the summer. It didn't turn out exactly like I wanted, but I'll repaint it again one day! I love the pumpkin on the left....it is clear, orange glass and the stem is glass as well. I found it at Target a few years ago and fell in love...:)

This last picture is my china cabinet. It is filled with loads of beautiful pieces of china and crystal that I have collected or had handed down to me over the years. My favorite aunt (mom's sister) is always giving me pretties to add to my collection. If you click on the picture and enlarge it, you can see my gorgeous Hammersley Victorian Violets teapot in the top right corner. It is one of my most valued possessions....and was given to me by my favorite aunt...:)

Well, if you're still reading, I hope this didn't bore you to tears! I was just enjoying the touch of Fall in this hot  Florida air and the smell of caramel pecan in my warmer and wanted to share...:) Hope you are enjoying Fall in your area! Speaking of Fall, Friday evening is the Fall Festival at my school! I'll share pictures over the weekend....igf I remember to take some in the craziness of the evening...:)

Who Doesn't Love a Fun Game!

Happy Saturday everyone! Hope you're all having a wonderful weekend....mine is going great but it has been super busy so far! It started with a Friday night football game....Go Bears! We won 48-8....it was an awesome game! Then, this morning I had to be up bright and early to attend a Learning Wheels workshop at 7:30. Well, I didn't have to be....I signed up for it. Anywho, it was a science workshop where they teach you these really fun games to play with the kids for review of all the concepts they are learning. It is a super fun workshop....and I made an easy $150.00 as well as getting around $200.00 worth of games for free!!! They are really fun games and the kids love them. Debrah Harman, one of the creators of the company, was our trainer. She is from Texas and is just the sweetest lady! You can read about her company here. They do math, reading, and science workshops and they are all lots of fun. Here are the games I got. You can read about them here if you are interested.

Well, anyway, I got home around 2:00 and decided to blog for a while before I get ready to head out to hang out with the hubs and some of our closest friends..) Not sure what we will do.....maybe game night....maybe just hang out and talk....who knows, but it will be a fun night. It's raining....AGAIN....in good old sunny Florida, so I do know we won't be outside. I would love a good game of redneck golf if it was nice out! If you've never played, you should! Here's a picture of the game. It is so much fun!

This is a picture I found online to show you! I wish this lawn belonged to me!
Maybe a game of Jamaican Rummy! That's a fun game...:) Anywho, we'll find something to do. I hope you all have a fun evening spent with the ones you love the most...:)

Before I go, I wanted to share an exciting bit of news! I can feel a slight bit of fall in the air!!!
This is always a huge welcome in Florida....I am so tired of the heat and humidity!
I absolutely love the fall....minus the allergy problems that always flare up! I love the weather, the colors, the decor, the holidays, I just love it all!

Be Blessed!

Just Another Sunday In the South....:)

Did you hear that? That was the sound of me sighing! I can't believe this weekend is almost over! It has been a busy one! After school Friday night was my Kota's opening football season jamboree! Lots of fun....and we won 61-0! (I was rooting for the other team the last half of the game....I hate to see anyone lose with no score on the board) Anywho, it was a loooooong day since I was in town from 7 AM until about 10:30 PM! We live in the country so we usually don't drive all the way home if we have anything going on in the evenings. We usually go to my mother-in-law's house for dinner and hang out there until time for the game or whatever is keeping us in town. Here's a couple of pictures from the game.
My son is # 50...:) I love this one of him between his two best friends as well as another one of his lifelong friends. Sweet....it makes me smile! The other one is him listening to his coach praise them for a job well done after the game. This is one of my favorites things about his games. No....not the praise, but listening to the whole team recite the Lord's Prayer together after the game (win or lose) and then celebrate with their own little chant! They are an amazing group of teens......I'm going to miss this next year! Insert tears & sniffles here.....

I didn't even get to sleep in Saturday morning because I had a training to attend. No, it wasn't mandatory, I wanted to go. It was with Renaissance Learning on the new Accelerated Reader and STAR programs. It was an excellent training and very informative. I'm glad I went....the trainer, LaDonna Hauser from North Carolina, was awesome! After the training, I came home and cleaned house! Fun!!!......NOT!!! But....it had to be done!

Fast forward to Sunday morning....I went to Sunday School and got a huge blessing from one of the sweetest ladies in my life! Oh, how I love my SS teacher...:) A quick trip to the grocery store after and then home to fix a quick lunch (chocolate chip pancakes...a request from my Kota), catch up on some laundry, and that leads me here! I am SUPPOSED to be writing lesson plans, but my blog was calling my name! So, I am updating since I haven't been on much recently and trying to catch up reading all my favorite blogs before I start lesson planning! I'm such a procrastinator! I'm also wondering if  Isaac is going to shut us down Tuesday....we're waiting to see!
Anyway, I hope each of you enjoy what's left of your Sunday and.....

Be Blessed!

Lazy Sunday in the South, a Blog Button (finally), a Few Goodies, and an Upcoming Giveaway!

Like my picture....that's me on the right! Can somebody say couch potato!
I need a shot.....no, not a shot from the Dr or a shot of liquor, I need a shot of energy!
I have been nothing but lazy today! This folks is not a good thing seeing as how I have more to do this week than I can possibly do! Seriously....what was I thinking!!!
Oh well, I guess I just needed a break and some rest....:)

The one and only thing productive I did today was finally figure out how to put the blog button I created a couple weeks ago on my blog! I got very frustrated last time I tried and finally gave up. I decided since I was just sitting around today that I would try it again and I got it on the second try! I am so excited...:) Hopefully soon I will get brave enough to buy one of those beautiful backgrounds and redo my look! Be sure to grab it for your blog! I need to do that with all yours too!
Isn't it cute...:)

I also want to share a few goodies I bought yesterday! I went BTS shopping with my sister and my two nieces, Shelby & Taylor. We had a great time...:) Here's a picture of me with Shelby and Taylor. Shelby (on the left) is the oldest. She is starting University of Florida in a couple weeks as a freshmen. She is a biology major who plans to attend med school and become a neurologist one day! Taylor (in the middle) is a high school junior and has plans to do something in communication in missions or ministry some day! They are both such smart, sweet, & kind young ladies!
I am very proud of them!

Here are a couple new tops and a scarf I bought for work! I got really good deals on all 3 pieces. The scarf came from Old Navy at $9.95. The chevron print top was $12 and the other one was $10. They came from JC Penney's. It was tax free weekend too so I didn't have to any tax on school supplies or clothes!!!

Close-up of chevron top....I puffy heart chevron print lately!
Close-up of the scarf....yep, it's chevron too!
Of course I had to hit up the Target $ Spot while I was there! I got everything you see here except the chevron zipper pouch. It came from Old Navy for $3.50. It was too cute to pass up! I got the striped bucket, the blue container, and the two paper pads (which match my color scheme) from the $ Spot! I also picked up the cute composition book, tablecloth, and planner from Target. The planner was on sale for $6.89! It is too cute....it's not the Erin Condren one I wanted, but it will do. Besides, I needed a cheap one for now so I can decide if I like it or use it enough to justify paying for an Erin Condren planner next year!

I also wanted to let you all in on my upcoming giveaway! I reached 100 followers last week so I wanted to celebrate! I am planning to put it on sometime this week, so keep checking back! Part of the prize will be a gift card for this awesome place!

Ok.....I think I may have talked myself into removing my huge big butt from the couch and going to cut out and sew my curtain and bunting banners for tomorrow's Monday Made It! I need to do some laminating and cutting out too and the good thing is I can come back to my little nest on the couch for the cutting part...LOL! Hope you are are having a restful Sunday!

Be Blessed!

Another Lazy Southern Sunday.....& Another Fabulous Giveaway

Hey y'all! Ok....I couldn't resist, it's a southern thang thing!
Yeah.....I'm a GRITS (girl raised in the south)!
Insert big grin here!
I did live in California and Washington as a teen for a few years too though! Hope everyone is having a restful Sunday.....I know I am. Not too much teachery related today except for a shout-out for an AWESOME giveaway that I will tell y'all about at the end! I am happy to report that my son who has been on a mission trip made it home safe and sound yesterday. I am watching him snooze on the couch as I type this. It is a rainy afternoon.....perfect for catching some Zzzzz's....and he is taking full advantage of it! You can see him and read a little about his mission trip here. I had a wonderful time in my Sunday School class this morning and then came home and we grilled hamburgers and had my mom and dad over to eat with us. Now, we are just lazing around and enjoying the slow pace that Southern Sunday's bring! I am trying to rest up before I hit the ground running tomorrow morning! I have to go for the oh so exciting mammogram tomorrow....oh JOY! I know some of you can relate...;) I like to call it the boobie trap! That's what it feels like...lol! Anywho....I will be spending the day in Gainesville tomorrow and then the rest of the week, I will either be working in my classroom or attending trainings! I'm excited and ready, but I am getting a little overwhelmed! I only have this week and next before I officially go back to work and I have so much to do! I know I'm preaching to the choir! We all have so much to do....more than humanly possible, but we're teachers and we get it done, right? I have three Dr appointments, two days of training, and I have to get my room ready and then on top of it all, I have a graduation party to plan for my daughter Miranda who is graduating from FSU on the 11th! I'm not complaining though....I am excited and so very proud of her! My kids are my heart...:) Speaking of things I need to do, I have a little project I hope to share on Monday Made It tomorrow....it has to do with the Home Depot nail aprons I bought the other day....but they won't be chair pockets! Stay tuned to see what I do with them!

Ok....so I'll stop rambling and whining and tell y'all about an awesome giveaway that Michelle from Mrs. G's Kindergarten in Heels is having to celebrate having 50 followers! Are you ready for it??? She's giving away a $25 Amazon gift certificate!!! Who couldn't use that? I know I could....I <3 Amazon! Be sure to click on the link above and go enter!

And one more sweet southern tidbit before I go!

Y'all Be Blessed now....ya hear!.....:)
